Wild Oats
time has never been on our side
long ago we both should have died
circumstances have not been kind
did you believe such love to find?
our youth spent in selfless sacrifice
lacking love and devoid of any spice
welcome to the center of my world
though I am no longer a tender girl
love knows no limits and has no age
each day we write upon a new page
and penned upon our united hearts
each day a new depth of love starts
come sow your wild oats with me
true love is ours and forever shall be
and we will recapture years we lost
whatever it takes we will pay the cost
to hold to the love most will never know
to nurture our bond and watch it grow
we'll forget about age and laugh at time
sow your oats in my garden, they are mine
That last line didn't make sense for a bit, until I read it a couple of times and then understood, I think.
Ron
It's always nice when what's yours is mine, and vice versa.
