Reflecting heart

Before You Found Me
………………………………………………………………….

I’ve been alone before,
Most often before you found me…
My search for you,
Was in a world…
Of cold and desolate island…
Before you found me.

Every direction I turned my face,
Eyes upon me…inviting…
Claiming to be you,
Possessing the love so tweaked…
By my needs and desires,
A love that goes far beyond,
What most could possibly comprehend.

Those needs and desires,
Haunted me…
Leaving me in isolation,
Not by choice…
But from necessity,
In silence…avoiding…
Those attempting to pretend.

In time…but oh so quickly…
I fell softly into the warmth,
Of your understanding…
And the passion you tried…
So desperately to hide,
Before your heart…
Finally recognized mine,
As the one you had searched for…
It was then…you turned,
And pulled me towards you.

Have I become…
So dependent on your love…
I cannot drift calmly,
In restful dreams…
Of days to come,
Waiting for your return ?

Sure…I’ve been alone,
But that was before...

You found me.
