I see you in the moonlight
As I slip outside the back door

Wisps of fog float around your form

I walk towards you in the midst of the fog
Our eye contact never wavers
I breathe in the peace I feel
While our love my heart savors
Drinking in the image of your body
As the distance between us wanes
The joy and happiness increases with each step
While my loneliness and depression drains
You smile as your arms open
Then they enclose around my waist
Drawing me deeply inside the warmth of your body
Crushing me into your embrace
My hands feel the depth of your hair
While my lips taste your chest
We spend the night in loving splendor
Until the moon dips to rest
I fall deeply asleep in your loving arms
Just before the break of dawn
I awaken with the new day’s sun
But when I open my eyes, you’re gone
Your side of the bed is always warm
I feel your hands on my cheek
Your legs are always intertwined with mine
And it’s your body that I seek
But even though I miss you
