Take away the mirrors
Rip them from the walls
I don’t want to see myself
Not anytime at all

Take away the mirrors
And my confidence will soar
I will fly like an eagle
For ever evermore

Take away the mirrors
And I will be again reborn
Strong and invincible
The girls will never scorn

Take away the mirrors
And I am sleek and lean
No more need for jogging
No more baggy jeans

Take away the mirrors
You’ll see I am the best
No one can derail me
From my chosen quest

Take away the mirrors
And I’ll never be depressed
I will laugh and sing all day
No joy will be repressed

Take away the mirrors
That image isn’t me
I am what I feel inside
And that’s the way I want to be

Excellent poem and descriptive and thought felt. But, as life teaches us, the mirrors make us look at our selfs and see things we really do not want to see, but need to see. Could it be our reflection is our own, and to safely deal with it? Katie
