For All Those Who Get Left Behind, Time After Time

We look through the personals and wonder why --
divorced, divorced, separated, divorced?
Where did we all go wrong?  

What are we all looking for?
Is it a mirrored image of us?
Is it that simple – I find that hard to believe.
Is it in a whisper, a dream, or a prayer?
 wish I knew then I could help me and you.
So lost – so very lost!

 We want love’s chemistry, trust, kindness,

soul mates, friends and lovers all in one.

But, all we find is the hollow passion of a dream.

How sad we are, you and me, how lonely, how empty!

Were did we go wrong?   

 So it is, that we aimlessly search to fill the hole in our souls

with a love that escapes us and leaves us like empty shells on an eroding beach.

Or, is it that we are egocentric instead of God centric?
