Divorce, Is There No Forgiveness?
djbeaulieu
I am gone, now, left to travel a path
that is divorced from its soul.
What happened, that pushed us so far apart?
Where did the love go?
Why did you not see that my pain was real,
my need strong, and the wilting slow?
Could you not see it, even when I cried?
Could you not hear it in the quiet of the lonely night?
It screamed of agony before it went silent, flickered and died.
Divorced from all I knew, trusted, felt, and idealized.
Deceived? God I hope not. But, my hope dwindles.
Justification for what we have done does not seem to exist.
Bible page after, page, “Psalm” after “Psalm,
” Proverb” after “Proverb” promises a hellish end for divorce.
Then the obvious – the awesome power of God to be God!
It is in His grace, mercy, and forgiveness
that we find the faith to go on
when all looks so hellishly hopeless.
In “the Light” all becomes right!
