Summer is here, the semester is over and Life is looking up. It's going to be a busy summer, recovering from the Spring, and I've got work to do. For those of you with whom I have work to complete, look forward to our projects coming to fruition. May God bless!

WHY

In tandem hearts intertwine.

Sublime moments passed in

divine harmony,

Broken, inevitably,

By life’s fragile balance.

Why?

Why don’t you love me

the way that I love you?

Why must you leave me,

when I’ve dedicated all

my life, to you?

I’ve done the things

you’ve told me to,

I’ve changed myself

to be the man for you.

But now you’ve gone

and left me,

and baby,

I just don’t know what

to do without you.

So hold me tight

in your arms

just one more time

tonight.

And I’ll be your man

for all time

Baby I’ll treat you

right.

The sky is the limit

There is nothing

that we cannot do.

I’ll be your best friend

Or your man

whatever you want me

to be.

Love me

Or leave me

that’s what you said,

So I stayed right by your side,

where I’ll be until I’m dead.

Or, so I thought…

But I guess the sun still shines

in the world,

Even though we’re apart.

And I know that I’ll get over you

And somehow un-break

my broken heart.

So hold me tight

in your arms

just one more time

tonight.

And I’ll be your man

for all time

Baby I’ll treat you

right.

The sky is the limit

There is nothing

that we cannot do.

I’ll be your best friend

Or your man

whatever you want me

to be.

So very, very sad Mark, but with a glimmer of hope still tucked within the deeply creased shadows of the verses. It is a strange thing, we change to become the person that the one we love wants us to be and in the end they realize that we are no longer the person they fell in love with. These lines from Shakespeare say it all:

"This above all: to thine own self be true,

And it must follow, as the night the day,

Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Farewell; my blessing season this in thee!"

Excellent, excellent poetry, Mark and perhaps the best that I have read of yours. Though born from sadness, I sometimes think that this emotion flows the most colorfully through the pen. This goes into my library, thank you for posting this emotional offering.

Take care,

Sherry

Mark, don't change yourself for any person
The change is just for you
If she loves you, it will be for who you are
I missed you too
Love and peace my friend
