Christians say God created man, but he disobeyed and had to sweat

Some of them wrote a book called the Bible, mostly about sin.

The Old Testament God was kind of mean, mostly bitter hardly ever light.

He told Joshua to kill all the women and children after the Battle of Jericho

He had Abraham sacrifice his son like a sheep. Abraham would have, too.

Jesus, also a God, was much more human; the New Testament tells us so.

Christians say he turned water into wine, a miracle for you.

The Greeks had lots of Gods who were both human and God;

Heracles and Dionysius; Dionysius died and rose again.

One would think somebody’s copying; I’d give Christians the nod.

St. Paul wrote to Greek cities in his Epistles now and then.

Zoroastrians had three Gods, too, a father, son, and holy ghost.

Mithra would come again, judge the living and the dead at the end of time.

Mithra was born in a cave; a star fortold his birth, the Persians boast.

Buddha was a rich man called Siddhartha, who for truth did pine.

He found it under a Bodhi tree; Nirvana he called it and it was a void.

Native Americans thought the Sun was sacred; they were probably right.

Where would we be without the Sun? In its sway, the earth is buoyed.

Henry Thoreau and others thought man, nature and God bore equal might.

Nice to think so; mankind would be Gods, traveling to Mars and Jupiter,

but Christian gave God credit for that and even the Big Bang.

They believe dinosaurs were on Noah’s Ark and stuff even stupider.

Once Puritans were in charge and innocent witches they did hang.

Lilith was created alongside Adam in one version of the Bible;

Must’ve been too much of a feminist; Chauvinists don’t abide lippy ladies

Eve was more pliant, suffering birthing pangs, having no rival

Then there’s Darwin who noticed Galapagos finches with different traits.

How did they get that way if not for evolution? Fish walked on land.

Dinosaurs learned to fly when Earth got too dark; grass turned to corn.

But the Bible says they were created fully realized and Darwin was banned

John Scopes was tried and fined, and Scopes II & III Christians do scorn.

Creationism and Intelligent design are religions ruled the last two,

and shall not be taught as science in schools in states red or blue.
