Come and Say I Love You

I can offer you my laughter.

I can share with you my pain.

I can hold the storm till after

You feel safer from the rain.

But you have to promise me that someday

When you feel the lightning strike,

Swear that fear won’t keep you

From knowing that it’s right.

Come and say, “I love you.”

Let the heavens thunder and the fierce winds blow.

Come and say, “I love you.”

We’re not afraid; we’re in love and so

I’ll give you the time you need now

To let go of the past.

I’ll give you the space you need now

Until you come to me at last.

And when you know, come and say I love you.
