Recently my husband, Darrell, reminded me in a major way why I feel the way I do about him. This is a reposting of a poem I offered in my very early days here. Many of those older poems seemed to have been missed, so now and again I bring one forward. Never in my life did I think such feeling was possible. It is possible and it can last. God is good.
Beyond Words
After heavy sighs subside
And the world turns right side up
I look at you from heavy eyes
While overflows my cup.
Besides those passionate glories
There is so much more to us,
So many adventures and stories
And interests shared and thus
The friend I have found in you
Is someone I cannot replace.
You are the one in all my view
Who deserves this special space.
Words fail me, surprise, I know;
I’m an adjective magician, but
To explain how deep it goes
Honestly, I could do what…
Write a passionate, devoted poem?
Write a thousand words or more?
Compose a singularly sappy song?
I have done and still, it is like before.
I love you beyond words in ink
Or notes jumping joyously off a page.
I love you harder and longer and I think
I love you more than can be gauged.
I would not put you before my God.
I would protect our immortal lives.
With our souls in tact, in His good graces.
Sure for eternity our love survives.
It is true that sometimes, words simply do not seem to be able to express what one feels; however, you have done very here, Kathy. Love and peace to you,
Precious dedication in the arms of appreciation for your mate, Darrel, Kathy. A spiritual slant is an age-old theme coupled with love is one that will always draw readers. It's very visual.
