The Many Faces of Love
Love has a thousand faces
a boundless heart,
It overflows from our cups
at times and places of
its choosing.
Love is patient and kind
It is neither arrogant nor rude;
It endures all things.
Love seeks us out.
Love casts a uniform net--
But never entraps.
It doesn’t show favoritism
To any one.
Love comes and goes
on its own terms
whether we are ready for it
or not.
When couples sigh
love is near;
When heroes die
love is there;
When songbirds fly
love pays the fare.
Love embraces serenity
Avoids obscenity
Nurtures every birth
Discriminates by
Preferring honesty
to net worth.
Love binds us together
in perfect harmony
It raises us up
and never belittles.
Love does not abandon us:
After sadness
and heartbreak
Love lifts us up
Without asking why.
Love makes our hearts
Beat more than they can.
Love also rewards those
with a keen eye for humanity,
Who with grace and class
Show us the way to honor--
Love makes them
Its standard bearers.

Seriously, very well thought out and delivered.

What a different world we would have…
This is carefully considered, unique and
Wonderful writing…

Interesting we were both on the same kick today as I just posted "Love is..."
Your work here, Ed, is the best I've read in a long time... you're riding a wave here and staying atop. Namaste, dear poet.
