The Days of Swine and Roses

We’re 30 days from that moment when there will be
a changing of the guard;
Some are calling for a celebratory lifting of a glass of wine
Others are checking to see if their hearts are still beating.

These are the days of swine and roses
Two elements of life that have neither fit nor care;
When long-held values are kicked like a rusty old can
Down an alley that beckons with dark voices and
muted sounds.

We are in a struggle to find if we still have the right stuff
The drive the wherewithal to take life by its days of glory
And shake our heritage and our honor back into words and actions;
This is neither the time nor place to search for miracles.
It is a time for going all in.

Already the world’s richest person is bouncing around like a lead balloon
With flared nostrils and dollars aplenty he challenges from a unique position
When money alone brings him the respect he thinks is his.
We shall soon enough discover if this emperor has any clothes.

Meanwhile the cats and mice are scurrying about
Some in it for sport some for the glory and others in for the money.
This is the penultimate sacrifice about which few know the final outcome.
But this we can say with certainty: We will see an outcome and
it will be bloody.

Sometimes our egos say we can do anything..we cant; not in one incarnation..and if we have extreme power an noone to pull us back...it can be devastating to us an those around us..

I read Helen Kellers great teacher; Ann Sullivan was extremely strick with Helen, thus the world was given a great gift.. But Helen and Ann recognized each other...they earned heaven.

Once again your prediction of a Civil War. I certainly hope not in this country where we've always been able to do better with nonviolent protesting than we have with any kind of violence, coercion or ignorant name calling.

Democratic Dilemmas and Divine Inspiration (A Kindle Short) by Aberjhani

Democratic Dilemmas and Divine Inspiration examines the significance or relevance of the idea that the U.S. Constitution was, as many believe, divinely inspired. How much did that belief matter to founders of the nation and how much does it matter no
