I love history and it's stories like this that help keep history real. I'm so glad you captured Doris Ross Reddick's story while it is still fresh. The book will be a resource for many years to come. I recall Rev. Lawson's contributions here in Houston. He has been honored several times recently for his work, especially in the nonviolent transition to desegregation. Hopefully there will be a book written about him one already has not been written.

I get the point you are making. Dedication or loyalty can be hammered into brains through repetition of chants, songs, Scripture or slogans. Repetition simplifies life and makes it easy to make decisions, even if they are wrong. Becoming dedicated usually makes one's mind, brain and thinking mush.
