Finally! A book that guides the reader on an easy journey in journaling any type of writing whether it be a newspaper or magazine article, a book, or even the BIBLE.
If you are like me, you have browsed the "blank books" in the book store. The title in many have the word, "Journal" in the title. Without getting the assistance how to write what is necessary to have succinct notes your journaling can either be too short for your posterity, or too long for the average person to gain any sense or gratification from their penmanship.
This is a needed book in anyone's library.

I have been daily journaling for almost 22 years, so when I had the opportunity to select, receive, and review Barbara J. Henry's book Journaling, Twenty Plus Reasons Why You Should Start Now, I was curious about what she had to say. Henry's book is a nice introduction to journaling and how it can be applied to anyone's life regardless of writing experience. She offers interesting stories about how journaling positively impacted her own life and the lives of her former high school students, co-workers, family members, and friends. Each chapter is devoted to a topic and how journaling can help, for example: Journaling and Creative Problem Solving, Journaling and Spiritual Development, and Journaling Across Genders. In addition to the chapter contents, Barbara J. Henry offers questions at the end of each chapter for further investigation of how each topic might affect the writer's life. A good book for someone who is interested in learning more about getting started with journaling and how it can help his/her life.

This was a nice book with some helpful hints for working on your own journal. The author's writing was well done. The tips she gives you are good for anyone dealing with stress and trying to work your way through it. I also liked how at the end of the book there were some stories about how this helped others. This is a book that I will use over and over again at different stages in my life. I think it would be a good book to share with your friends.

I began journaling in (June)1995,and I have journaled daily since that time.
The process helps me to think clearly. I have noticed more creativity and spontaneity as a result. It is one of the best activities one can perform;writers, I believe, can see positive, benefits in a very short time.

I have forgotten the details of the original story. But my recollection is that the story is an allegory for trusting strangers. Today, people seem to fear the wolf after their children far more than in the day when that fairytale was written.
You seem to have covered all the bases. Like Jane says, it looks like Little Red Riding Hood told a lie to cover her embarrassment for being tricked.

We need to let our voices be heard and show the world what LOVE is!
After all, if we don't, who will?
We know satanic voices will fill the gaps.
They will meander in the cracks and spread much darkness.

Yes, looking at fallen leaves tells us a lot about the complexity of life, even at the tree level. But I feel a bit of remorse that you have not experienced vermilion, rose, orange, and purple leaves that populate the deciduous forests of the northern half of North America. The range of color really never stops.

Barbara, I think we need to be aware of ourselves and decide if we need to say something or not and how to say it. If we are angry about something else, then perhaps we need to make sure we do not mix the issues. In general it takes courage to get out of our comfort zone and stick our head out.

Your faith is so sure and so powerful. Your liberty is so beautifully dressed. Until in ways I truly felt so naked and ashamed, and saw things that I needed to confess. Truly you are the word become flesh in the beautiful things in which you have spoken. And I thank God that as I hungered and thirst for His Son, that your beautiful book was there opened.
I'm so inspired by your brilliance until these things I had to write. For I owe it to you to say that I clearly see the Lord Jesus in your light. Truly, you've nearly taken my breath away, I'm nearly at a loss for words. Nonetheless, I bless your soul, your gifts, your goals, your works, and the God that you serve.
Not all of us Know the love of God, neither the things that we must do. Many they perish for a lot of knowledge and believing things that simply are not true. But since standing in your world I find it safe to say that you're a good example of the road that one should take. For the glory you've given your God is astounding. And all of the things that he's done in you I'd call great.

I tend to agree with Paul. All of our memories, good and bad are the complete cycle of the life we lead today. There is usually even a lesson to be learned with a bad memory; to be stored away in one's memory bank to help warn us if another such situation arrives in our life.

I like the large print and the substance of the opening line, that catches the reader's attention right from the start. It is Scripture in everyday words throughout.
The final lines are so "inviting" they have a beautiful simplicity.

As a personal experience, “I rise,” has great meaning. Some have done it several times. For me it has only been once. And I'm not talking about Jesus.

Hi Barbara Ilike the poem but they'd and I'D I would replace with they held me when I wept. I'm not a writer and I may be wrong but that sounds better to me . I hpoe you get this review I've written it three times.
