Schools of journalism teach journalists to be accurate and fair, using facts for their reports. However, news media has always been accused of being political going back to the "yellow" journalism of the 1800s, the Hearst Empire, etc. The Internet has opened endless channels for people to provide "news" of dubious quality. Allowing folks that don't agree with what the mainstream media is reporting to find friends and collaborators online and on radio and in cable channels with lots of, "talking heads."
Actors have always had power. TV actors and stage actors as well as Hollywood actors. Some make a lot of money like business moguls and spend it on their political favorites.
You seem to forget that actors, using their on stage personas, have been very successful as political candidates… Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Donald Trump (10 years of the Apprentice establishing his ability to fire people at will).

Since I wrote this article in 2009, there has been discovered a crater 30 miles wide in the south Indian Ocean, evidence of an asteroid or large meteor strike around 5200 BC. There is further evidence worldwide that the global climate changed drastically at that point. This confirms what I said about a "regional flood". The giant Tsunami created by this "hit" would have carried around the world but only inland to a certain extent. All coastal habitations would have been destroyed. In the area described by genesis it would have taken the form of a giant wave of water coming over the mountains, killing all inhabitants along the coast of the Middle East and southern Turkey, and is described perfectly in other records, by the Sumerians, the first settlement visited by Noah's descendants. After the event, it would have taken some time for the waters to subside and drain back into the sea, as described in Genesis.

Often wonder why we need heaven like we deserved it… For what, living? Believing some words written on the page 2000 years ago or more? Listening to someone spout the same words, over and over so that they are lodged in our minds and won't leave?
I'm more along the lines of John Lennon and science. There may certainly be multiple universes. But we are not in them. The facts of our universe clearly mean that we die, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. There's absolutely no evidence other than faith that there is anything hereafter except our elements and molecules continuing on to be recycled after us.
Robin Williams beautifully portrayed an ideal heaven in What Dreams May Come, and then went there. Thereby avoiding the hell of Parkinson's disease on his mind and body. Smart man.

The writers of Revelation are generally writing about the first 100 years after Christ's death. Countless times since, Bible interpreters have predicted earth demise and failed.
I do agree with you that intelligent life is extremely difficult to develop and may self-destruct through the means of nuclear misstep or a slower death created by unknowing change of the atmosphere and oceans by overpopulation and misuse.
I don't agree that nuclear war would leave much of an imprint when viewed from a great distance. Astronomers are seeing planets colliding with one another and stars blowing up, but these are on the magnitude of millions of times greater than a surface of blasts that would not kill everyone, but would spew out radiation that probably would. I'm not saying that nuclear war on a distant planet could not be detected eventually. But it would be small in comparison to many events like being pulled into a black hole.
Self-destruction by the inhabitants of this earth is much less likely than from external, space-based threats, of which there are many.

Interesting Allen. Exegesis of scripture is a lifelong endeavor. Psalm 2:9 in the NIV says: "You (Christ) will break them with a rod of iron, you will dash them to pieces like pottery." This will happen to the enemies of the Most High God at the 2nd coming of Christ at the Battle of Armageddon.
Revelation 19:15 "And from His (Christ's) mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God, the Almighty." The first part of this verse also happens at the Battle of Armageddon. The 2nd part finds fulfillment during the Millennial (1000 year) reign of Jesus Christ on Earth. The last part describes the Risen Christ accomplishing His Father's will.
Certainly one can be construed as a weapon, and the other a symbol of absolute unwavering holy authority. Both refer to Christ Jesus. We are about to enter into those days. Thanks for sharing. Peace... r

This article brings up some interesting points but they are not new. Interesting, yes, but scientifically invalid. The type of evolution that would transform one species into another--macro-evolution did not happen, and could not have happened. Your article refers to micro-evolution, small changes within a species, which few serious people, Christian or heretic would dispute. But it comes nowhere close to shedding new light on this debate.
Evolution has a multitude of flaws that cannot be overcome by science, reason, or archaeology. In fact, archaeology disputes evolution since all manner of species appear suddenly in the fossil record and not through transitional variations. For me, the final nail in the coffin of evolution is that it requires a suspension of natural law, specifically, the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which, as you know, states that nature tends toward disorder.
Nature did not have billions of years with which to "create" man, and nature creates nothing. To date, all of the so-called transitional species offered up in support of evolution have been fraudulent. Can you say, "Piltdown Man?" Also, statistically, anything with a likelihood greater than one in 10,000 didn't happen, couldn't happen. The odds of evolution resulting in even a single living cell are greater than one in one centillion. While the debate may continue, those who choose to believe evolution will continue to do so regardless of the mountains of evidence to the contrary. And those of us who believe the One Living God, will not be moved by fake science to believe the big lie.
Every genuine Christian must reject the idea that God used "science" in the creation process. That idea is akin to the clock maker theology, that suggests that God started the process and then, abandoned the earth. It would be great to read some actual scientific facts about this topic, because all of the real science is on the side of the biblical account.

Theories about Genesis and the flood abound. And the scientists are uncovering vital clues to places and events on earth that would parallel the stories that were passed down through generations before they were written.
When compared with the rapidly growing body of knowledge of the gradual development of man as Homo sapiens, the biblical stories still seem to have serious flaws when compared to reality.

Fascinating stuff, I wrote a similar account in a book published in 2008. It is very hard to think that all these things were just by chance. It would be easier to win the lottery every week for a year than strike lucky with just a couple of these facts.

Many of us who are not theists will actually settle for a simple 'I don't know'. I am reasonably familiar with concepts of quantum mechanics, and you are right to point out the inconsistencies you see, but so far in my life I have seen the conventional idea of god retreat at every advance of science - back to a few millionths of a second into the life of the universe it seems. Whilst I firmly believe that there are aspects of existence that lie beyond the method of science, closer to the domains of metaphysics and mysticism, the traditional ideas of the nature of YHVH, of Allah, of Zeus and Christ are surely discredited beyond redemption. And yet I do believe in a God of some sort - but what he or she or it is, I don't know - I simply feel the presence and the necessity of the father and mother of all things, although that is a crude representation of my philosophy.

Although the argument doesn't totally convince me yet I love the speculative edge to this piece - conducted of course at the very edge of contemporary physics ... which is a weird world (alternative universe!) unto itself. From my perspective I'm interested in your view as to why our sense of 'spiritual' (alternative universes?) dimensions seems to have changed at critical points in our species history - i.e. from animism to polytheism to monotheism to scientific materialism etc. ... do other universes impact on our capacity to perceive/experience spiritual dimensions? To summarise: a great example of creative thinking - I really enjoyed this piece.

I find this to be very enlightening. I do not have any better theory to offer and I like yours. It makes semse to me. It incorporates Einsteins theory of Reletivity, provides a plausable explanation for thr fourth dimension and backs it up with Bibical scripture. Kudos Allen.
