Haven't read the synopsis yet, but there are a few grammatical errors in your intro that I'm sure you'd like to know about. The verb "get stuck" should be "gets stuck" the noun it refers to is the starship which is singular, not the aliens which is plural. It may be wise to then break the sentence at "and try" because at that point you are most likely talking about the crew, not the starship. Again, crew requires "tries" not "try" even though it sounds numerative.
