I love ❤️ the organic 60's inspired artwork!✨️ The halcyon innocence of the two children seated on the bench contrasts & compliments the elements of the poetic piece. Compliment: JESUS was the INNOCENT LAMB w/o sin who died for us all! If we come to GOD as a child hiding nothing, 'All-of Gods'-"chillen" are sure-to-make-it in!' Contrast:The artwork depicts affection& love btwn an African~ American girl & a white boy. Many today are not "half-past the hate" of mixed unions. And yes, "chillen"{i.e. children} & babies do immediately make it into Heaven . death! Yet, we adults have to walk by belief in JESUS' death&resurrection along with our faith&works to make it in! We have to do more than adore him… Hopefully to gain the benefits of being one of his disciples. Better that we live like him. Simple, charitable lives. Open to all people and not just "our" people. And most of all, throwing out the money changers in favor of everyone having a decent life.

'The Way, the Truth, and the Life'. What a powerful statement. No one in the history of mankind has ever claimed that before except Jesus Christ. Michele and I have a piece of art on the wall with Christ's transfigured (but still scarred) hand reaching back, with John 14:6 boldly displayed. It's next to the front door, so every time we head out into the world we are reminded. And our dreams... YES... they are like precious crystal spheres that must be protected at all costs from the shattering blow of the hammer of reality. And what a darkening uncertain reality it's becoming. The escalating crisis down here on the southern border is beyond understanding. I hope you are well dear friend. Your calling has always been clear to me. What a wonderful poem describing how a young mind can get on the right track when it comes to something like arithmetic by going to the one they love the most, their mother. And especially during this time when a child may have no other adults available while trying to learn math online from computer algorithms that don't know the child's mind. Time for dad or mom to step in and help.
I remember when my brother stepped in and made his oldest daughter learn the multiplication tables my heart. She went on to get a degree in zoology.
I remember my second grade teacher, Mrs. Coburn (we called her, Cold Burn, the old battle-ax!) Gave me a D in mathematics. I got so angry that I wanted revenge. I finally got it in eighth grade when my algebra teacher gave me an A+.

It's always good to remember. Just this morning I got an email informing me that the legacy for Dr. Otis King, former acting president of Texas Southern University, 40 year law professor at TSU and a man of many other talents with a degree in biology and a law degree from Harvard, having beat Harvard in a debate with the great Barbara Jordan as his partner while they were both on Dr. Thomas Freeman's debate team as undergraduates.
Dr. King died in 2012. So I eagerly looked at the 43 remembrances to see what was written. When I saw that I wrote a remembrance on December 1, I was surprised. Shortly after I wrote that, I went into the hospital with pneumonia, urinary tract infection and a blood clot in my left lung. I almost died and would have had I not had surgery on my right lung to remove the infection (fungus?). I left the hospital on December 26 and have finished my autobiography and four books since. My last conversation with Dr. King was that he had planned to write a book of his life. I hope he had time to finish.

cold be praising the Lord who were not even given a chance to be born.
MY PRAYER TO THE LORD:
Dear Lord,
I cannot bear to think how many babies have not yet been born.
Who could now be doctors, preachers, great teachers and on and on.
These precious babies could have been adapted into our world.
They could have been a precious baby boy or a bouncing baby girl.
I grieve for the millions that were slain without even a breath.
They could have been just like you or just like me instead
But they are being slain in the womb and are now forever dead.
Dear Lord of all how come we allowed this to happen at all?
We witnessed humanities rise and now we witness it's fall.
I promise from this day on to do all that I can
to give a chance of life to these silent unborn children
Let's celebrate LIFE along with every woman and every man
In the precious name of Jesus - Use me as I am!

To those of us with a conscience and clear obligation such as wanting to pay our debts, the bedtime blues can visit when we feel we have no options. I like the way your poem points out the cause and a possible cure.
Except for the occasional transgression that I couldn't resolve, I slept well up until 25 years ago when physical deterioration started to make going to sleep difficult with swollen and painful feet and legs from inactivity all day and the inability to turn myself in my sleep. Fortunately, by morning, raising my feet and legs usually allows the fluid collected during the day to return to the bloodstream and all of the tingling, spasms and other effects keeping me awake, go away.

"Write the good fight" Absolutely. An encouraging message. Loved it! "Crawling, walking, Hobbling - along" Haha. It's certainly like that sometimes. Yes it is. "The healing rains" is a cool image Georgia; with spiritual and corporeal inferences. This came to mind: "Then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and olive oil."
"No lie can live forever" That is so true. Another one I like is: "A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes" Some people attribute that quote to Mark Twain. Evidently it did not originate with him though. Seems Charles Haddon Spurgeon attributed it to an old proverb in one of his sermons. Enjoyed reading this. I hope that my heart is filled with love flowing over so that age color will never be that of anger and hate. Anger and he is a gangrene on the soul. That doesn't make it green or dark green, because the beautiful plants that cover our world are those colors. So any color can be love and loving. Any color can be hate filled and angry. So I would color my world like the rainbow. And find a pot of love waiting at the end of rainbow's bridge.

What a joyful and positive poem! You reminded me that as I passed out my dining room door to the deck for some sun, my partner, in placing the rope that I need to pull the door shut behind me, has tied knots about every 5 inches. While that may help her grip the rope to pull the door shut, it does nothing for me, because I can't grip the rope, only the loop on the end with my wrist or elbow to pull the door shut. So this thoughtful little thing that she did is quite useless to me, but shows her concern. And that what's joyful about it.

Great story of the caterpillar!... from birth to becoming a beautiful butterfly it takes lots of hard work, courage, and determination.
It does not matter how or where one is born, you can be a rose living in a pile of mud, but the rose shines a bright light because it is a rose, and it serves a purpose to brighten up beautifying its surrounding!
And so is the caterpillar that is born a caterpillar, but in time it will become a butterfly.
Great job on the cute and beautiful painting! I love it!

Perhaps from her load, but the woman pictured seems to be slouching a bit. Your poem rings true. It is wonderful to have humility and stand tall at the same time. Some tall standers throw humility out the window when they speak. That is truly unfortunate. For their mere stature gives them power and humility is their best approach.

I was the middle child who no one gives a damn when I was born. My dad was hoping for a son. He did not come to the hospital when I was born but only called to ask my mother whether I was a girl or a boy, my mom got mad and lied, told him I was a boy. Imagine the surprise to my dad and my grandparents when I and my mother got home from the hospital. I was dressed like a boy for my first year and was quickly sent off to live with my grandparents (my mom's parents) where I received the best childhood. I was my grandpa's "Lucky Star" - that's what he called me. If I were living at home I would not have been so special. Sometimes our life has a way to work out its miracles. I had a very special time with my parents when they came to live with us in Canada, and I get to understand them a lot more why they did what they did and know that they loved me too. No regrets. I love my parents dearly even after they've passed away.

I'm not fond of haiku, but I like the simple purpose of this poem. It is more important than ever for young people to learn. Unfortunately, there is a sector of our society that seems to be afraid of education. At least education that is open to explore all learning. They always want to steer education towards their particular religious beliefs, often falsehoods that education exposes.

I'm not sure if this is a Haiku poem which should contain 5-7-5 syllables (first line 5, second line 7, and third line 5), and Haiku poems normally reflect the surroundings of places.
Whatever this poem is it certainly has a great message to our young people nowadays. They need to stay in school and not be succumbed to becoming puppets on a string for any political parties.

Natural fluffy hair is the wildest thing wnen they're let loose. I would not put too much cream or ointment in your hair. After washing just coat it with a thin layer of oil, then let your hair go loose and wild. Try that! It may be a beauty to behold, and less bugs will bother your hair. If they do, just shake your hair and give it one wild fluff, the bugs will be gone in no time at all!!! Enjoyed your poem!

This one is funny unless you're the one it's happening to. I can no longer swat or brush away bugs that occasionally land just out of reach and then tend to drive me crazy, unable to do anything about them unless I get someone else to do it. No, you're not alone. And, some ointments and beauty enhancements will attract bugs like the fruit flies that like to commit suicide in my wine every evening.
Have you tried going naturale, without all these beauty enhancements? Bugs may not be attracted to soap and water.

Since the first grain was domesticated man has been messing with our food. The modern tulip is a result of intense breeding back in the Netherlands in the 15th century where tulips became kind of a stock market of value for getting rich.
But you are right in pointing out that the worst food is sold in the poorest neighborhoods. But that has always been so. I credit being poor and frugal to my good health because I never fell victim to unhealthy prepackaged food in my life. I always had time to cook from scratch even if I couldn't find the best cut of meat to make for dinner.
Neil deGrassi Tyson says we should not get all worked up about GMOs and I agree with him. But we should pay attention to is whether or not we are eating the right food in the right way.

All this is because of one word - Greed! The GMO produce is made larger and therefore heavier to be sold for more money. Unfortunately, it is not healthy for humans consumption. There is no label to advise the consumers that a package of meat is of GMO origin. We consume every day, and I can bet you our brains are, in some ways, affected by this.

The prejudice toward darker skin and other cultures persists in the 21st century in hidden hideous ways, still embedded in institutions as high and mighty as the church, while scientific study and DNA show that we are all one race--the human race.
The only way we can break down this prejudice that goes so deep is to break away from our sheltered enclaves and interact with all people around us. Try not to look down upon or belittle people of lesser wealth or social standing. Put ourselves in their shoes for one day and then say that they are inferior when they show us how really important it is to survive against all odds.
Sorry for this tirade. But it's time we stopped differentiating in hate and celebrating our differences as our strength. I hope your poetry helps change minds.

The key word in this poem is much like the mind ruminating a hypnotic mantra bracing it self for a mindful descent and/or ascent into its own self inflicted empiric madness in realizing what it has become. :) I can relate to this because I always say I have "wild woman" hair- it's wiry and hard to tame, but I like it that way, lol! I also liked the humor and seriousness of this-because isn't it a shame we put ourselves and our hair through so much for some silly fashion?? I also liked the repetition of certain lines as it gave a feel of past times as well as the style being reminiscent of one of my favorite poets work, Paul Laurence Dunbar. Enjoyed.

had many American friends who had old-fashioned values, values that made your nation great.
