Cherokee (Poetry) - 8/1/2019 10:48:52 AM
This has a lilting quality that could certainly be a song. A kind of lament about growing older and not achieving what youth expected. Ron

Clouds Gather (Poetry) - 7/23/2019 12:54:23 AM
A thoughtful moment encased within a thoughtful poem.

Clouds Gather (Poetry) - 7/21/2019 6:18:58 PM
I feel a soft movement in this precious poetic piece. Yes, it moved me. Well done! John Michael

Clouds Gather (Poetry) - 7/21/2019 10:28:26 AM
A perfect description of a moment in time when one contemplates the clouds. I do it quite often during my midday sojourn in the sun. Ron

Clouds Gather (Poetry) - 7/20/2019 3:55:23 PM
"We sit still on the fine white sand at Mālaekahanah watching the changing sk]ym." Since we have no other recourse we will do as directed.

Golden Philosophies (Poetry) - 7/14/2019 9:10:54 AM
So much time and energy spent on building temples to impress gods when the real treasure is what is written on the pages of experience. That's what I see in your poem. The words and phrases, "I have a dream," that propel us forward into a better future than we had when those words were originally written. Ron

Shifts Out of Time (Poetry) - 7/4/2019 7:59:50 AM
"While the moon’s silver blanket Heals the soul." Best two lines of this great write . . .

Shifts Out of Time (Poetry) - 7/4/2019 7:49:02 AM
You seem to have described a dream state quite aptly. Enjoyed. Like experiencing a dream taking place. Ron

Exit on Wings (Poetry) - 6/28/2019 9:10:51 AM
Some really great questions posed. But we can't think our way out of deterioration and death. I believe it is kinder to die before we deteriorate. At some point, living may be like torture and death becomes a real relief. I am still young but have settled my affairs and have no loose ends or old axes still to grind. I am cruising along, writing what I feel like writing and comfortable with what I've done. After 56 years of paralysis, I look at death as a relief from the continual torture of being limited physically for much of what I do and losing what I did only yesterday. That's why I'm not looking for some fantasy like heaven, but a release from the pain and struggle with my memories still intact. Ron

Exit on Wings (Poetry) - 6/26/2019 6:07:12 PM
Enjoyed the write. My exit, stop the world and let me off.

Exit on Wings (Poetry) - 6/26/2019 11:16:43 AM
They say that laughter is the human response to all the unknowables of life. But are you really in search of an exit, or even an exit strategy? I don't believe that for an instant. How else could you write about it with such conviction? or such brilliant insight? even with "reliable" glue? No, Kathryn, I found you out. And I didn't even need to read between the lines. Oh, before I forget: This is one very enjoyable read!

Mama's Lap (Poetry) - 6/14/2019 9:11:07 AM
Your mother was an educator supreme. My mother was young and inexperienced in the world, but somehow gave me the freedom to learn and the love of learning that I cherish. With this poem you have honored what your mother lovingly gave you. Ron

Mama's Lap (Poetry) - 6/14/2019 8:00:39 AM
I enjoyed reading this tribute to your mother. She was a very smart woman, and you were a lucky daughter to have her in your life.

Mama's Lap (Poetry) - 6/13/2019 2:36:14 PM
I would venture to say that your “mama” gave you some very good lessons, and that you took those lessons and put them to excellent usage during your life.

Desert of Questions (Poetry) - 5/6/2019 8:05:16 AM
You have a unique style that resonates somehow with me. I'm a fond believer that a poem should communicate. So, I'm having some difficulty. And yet, I am beginning, in a few phrases, to understand your meaning. So many unanswered questions in a dried-up life. Ron

Morning Meditation (Poetry) - 5/5/2019 10:37:54 AM
Your view is very exotic to me, but welcome. While I view my rather mundane tiny backyard in the midst of suburbia. Ron

Morning Meditation (Poetry) - 5/5/2019 9:18:33 AM
Peacocks, Japanese warbling white eyes, a great frigate bird, Pali cliffs; feels like a heart and soul vision of someplace in Hawaii. Uniquely conceptualized. Peace... rlc

Exposure (Poetry) - 3/11/2019 7:01:36 AM
And afraid! (Television reality show) Your poem reminded me of that program. When we are dropped naked into the garden of Eden, all is not heavenly. It is more like torture. Very few rights to the occasion. Ron

Trouble in Paradise (Poetry) - 2/11/2019 10:49:31 AM
You have described Kilauea in beautiful, poetic terms. As the goddess of all Hawaiian culture from which the Hawaiian Islands existed at all. If it were not for volcanoes like Kilauea, your poem would not exist. Ron

Moon of Falling Leaves (Poetry) - 9/6/2009 7:43:22 PM
I like poetry like this full of personal images, memories that have a tragic touch. I might not have known that if you hadn't added the footnote at top. And the title is perfect... Is much of your poetry set in Hawaii? Nice to know you, michael

I LIKE YOUR WRITING...IT IS WRITTEN WELL AND I SOMEWHAT AGREE WITH IT...HEALING DOES BEGIN IN THE MIND BUT THE MIND BY ITSELF CANNOT HEAL...IT IS THE MIND REACHING AND TOUCHING THE HEALER THAT HEALS...IF...'HE' DEEMS IT SO. THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS YOU. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
