I totally love reading Laurens books. I get so involved and intrigued that I don't want to stop reading for a minute. This one was no different! I couldn't wait to get some time to go hang with Judd and Dusty and escape into their world for a bit. I love how she uses down to earth characters that are easy to relate to. Being from the area also, it is cool that all the settings are local. Like the other McCassey Series, "Dusty Rose" was packed full of excitement, action, romance and surprises. Even though the McCassey boys are tough guys they have no shortage of heart when it comes to their families and protecting them. They will not stop until everyone is safe! You don't see that as much in today's busy life. It's a nice reminder that not all tough guys are rude, ruthless, non caring guys. Now I am on to the "Long Road" and I can't wait to meet more of the family and get swept away into the "McCassey" world once again!

Ever since reading "Growing Up Little", I've been addicted to Lauren's writing. She has a unique ability to make you feel as though you know her characters intimately in a short amount of time, and to make you feel as though you're right there with them.
The McCassey family and their stories are no exception. By the time I got to The Long Road Home, it was like visiting old friends. Only this time, they had a younger sister shaking things up. Until now, we were used to Blackie's, Rebel's, and Judd's style of cunning, bravado, and intensity. Now, thanks to Georgia, we see the chink in the armor. Their soft spot.
It was as exciting and satisfying to see the brothers caught off-balance, adapting to having a little sister as it was to get to know Georgia, and learn just how much like her brothers she really was.
I've typically been more of a non-fiction reader, but the McCasseys have me hooked. I'm eagerly anticipating her next book.

I have read every book in this series and loved every one of them. The characters are so real and fun to read about. The books are real page turners and I looked forward to reading them. There were many times that I found myself unable to put the books down and couldn't tear myself away. They had everything that I like in a great book, action, romance, suspense and humor. Can't wait to read Lauren's next book!
