I love stories from our Native American past. I am not Native American, but my uncle, a soldier in World War II, married a Blackfoot woman during or after the war and had seven children.
I edited and published a novel by Brian Goodson after his death, Seven Fires: Promise of the Dawn.

I'm so glad that you have published this book for young people about the atrocities that the Spanish carried out, not only for the native people of California but throughout South and Central America. It's a story hidden behind religious piety and time that needs to be revealed for what it was.
I have just published (posthumously) a book by Brian S. Goodson. He died on August 8 and didn't have the funds to publish it. Seven Fires is a science fiction novel relating how the Indian Nations were prepared and able to survive a nuclear war and establish a new treaty with the government after using Indian lore and tradition to solve the world's worst problem--destruction of the natural environment. I spent nine months helping Brian by editing the book and am glad to bring it back in a third edition.
