A light-hearted, comical tale where each bird type represents a unique personality trait of human nature. The main bird (character) is a Twit (Twite - a small brown passerine bird in the finch family) named Cecil who recounts his story of his travels from Egypt to Terra Austris, a hypothetical continent first announced in ancient past that appeared on maps between the 15th and 18th centuries. Cecil is an opinionated, out-spoken, fast-talking Twit that thinks love is for the "birds," not him. He's into books, loves to read and learn, but why he wears glasses is for his nearsightedness, not reading.
There are humorous bits about Cecil's ride on a camel through Egypt and being at sea, but something happens when he meets Matilda. He learns that he is really a kind of Ibis - art of the Egret family. Then comes the cutest scene of the book when Matilda catches a snake and offers to share it with Cecil leading us into a Lady and the Tramp with the romantic dish of pasta memory. Cecil decides to change his ways after falling in love with Matilda and stops talking so much except when he's telling stories to their five chicks!
A charming, fun easy-read done in one sitting. Very enjoyable and entertaining. Definitely worth the time.

Certainly at the crossroads of life. And, a little humor does go a long way. If one listens long enough at the counter, I believe you can hear almost anything come in the door and then, satisfied for the moment, go out.
Been there a time or two in my travels as well. But I was only a regular for a short period once at Irv's Café. A breakfast greasy spoon where the stories came in every morning and the French toast filled your stomach with lead.

I gather from what I've read that this is not a psychology book based on scientific experiment or theory but basically a memoir of your struggle with your own psychological problems related to "growing up" and accepting responsibility for your actions. As I recall from grade school, about 70% of the boys and about 30% of the girls exhibited irresponsibility and never wanted to take the blame for their own actions. Based on the number of people addicted to various things including sex and food, I would venture to say that as much as 60% of the population has a hard time living up to their own expectations and resorts to addictive behaviors as an escape.
Hopefully our book has helped you and will help others that may need to learn how others did it.

Letting go has only one tiny problem. You can't come back and rethink the process which gave you the notion of "letting go." I do agree with you somewhat. Letting go is sometimes much more favorable than "hanging on."
