Thank you for your story above. I am an ER nurse and after more than a decade of "answering the midnight call", began to feel worn out both physically and mentally. I appreciate your perspective on turning to Christ. He truely is the one the 911 responders can turn to after a particularly difficult shift. I have been the last one that frightened eyes beheld on this earth before passing to the other side. I have witnessed countless "non-believers" suddenly come unto Christ to relieve their suffering in their last moments.
Your story so aptly describes the only one that can be counted on and turned to.

Well said brother, well said. I found the Lord 32 years ago. In fact before I found him I asked him for my job in law enforcement, in fact I named the department and the city and the state. Guess what, 30 days later I was working for said department. Our Lord is able!!!!!!!

I enjoyed this story tremendously, though I'm wondering why it isn't an article since it is so profound. Aside from the few punctuation errors, typos, and misspellings, this story is well-written and concise. I love the syntax and the style--metaphors, similes, analogies, and all. :) Overall, I think this is a subtle-but-affective way of witnessing...and based on this story, I think you'd make a great tel-evangelist. :) Keep it up! I'm listening. P.S. Are you, by chance, a minister?

sounds like my life in law enforcement. I am an instructor also and I face the same issues, getting somebody certified. I am in afghanistan at this time writing curriculum and let me tell you the people over here have centuries of behindness to over come.

Item 2--- I know I should not make such a comment on a public space, but you reached my teenage heart. Our kids (in their 40s) could hardly believe that "Tom Dooley" was one of our very favorite songs--and everyone else's in that era--when they were planning a big anniversary party for us, and asking what songs we had liked. The lyrics stunned them.
Recently, listening to the memento CD they made for us, I realized that I actually like "Who Put The Dip in the Dip-da-dip-da-dip?" I didn't even like it when I was 16, but now it's another of those "beloved old ballads of yester-year."
And I love goofy humor, so thanks for sharing yours!
