This quaint story reads like a fictional memoir following the life of Carineh, an Armenian Christian born and raised in Iran. The dedication and devotion she feels toward her father's homeland is reflected throughout the story. It follows Carineh as a teen, into early adulthood and dating and the eventual meeting, falling in love and marriage to her husband, Caro.
The insight and perspective provided into the world of Armenians' was very informative, interesting and entertaining. There were familiar characteristics to the Iranian culture, but also a very fun, light-hearted playfulness of the Armenian spirit.
The book, "The Apple Tree Blossoms in the Fall" is a very sweet, easy-flowing story that follows Carineh and her family as she becomes quite the jet-setter, traveling and taking up residence in many different countries, which is a special addition to the novel. The scenic descriptions of the family's many residential locations paints a wonderful picture in the mind of the reader. I very much enjoyed the writing style of Armineh Ohanian and look forward to reading additional works by her. I I highly recommend that you read "The Apple Tree Blossoms in the Fall." Definite thumbs-up!

Unusual and Refreshing are the words I would use to describe this book.
From the first word readers are going to be sucked into this most unusual story. I felt as though I could imagine myself in this incredible setting.
Readers want to see what adventures will happen and can't put the book down until the end.
The intriguing storyline moves right along in a cohesive and understandable way.
The author tackled a complicated topic in a refreshing and fun way. Thank you for a wonderful fun-filled afternoon with this publication.

The cover of this book gives readers a glimpse at what is inside with its precise yet unique look. The telling of a culture and life the majority of people will not live -- is revealing.
From the first page, the author has readers yearning to discover the journey this family will take.
Each section melds to form one cohesive story of a most unusual family. Writing chapters that can stand alone, make this publication perfect for people who have only a few minutes to read at a time.
Writing the events and writing the feelings using the voice of the main character allows readers the experience of feeling they are part of the scene.
This book would be enjoyed by all ages.

Armineh is a great storyteller. She has written a great fictionalized memoir of her earlier life in Iran as a young girl,an Armenian Christian at that. Thank you Armineh. Check it out in Amazon today especially if you've ever wondered what it was like to live the life of a young faithful Christian girl in a country that does not look too kindly toward them. The story has all the ingredients of a page-turner,although it's not a thriller. The attraction was,for me, that it was different,something I'd never read about before. The Iranian culture is so foreign to most of us. This book tells it like it is and was. Armineh leaves nothing out. It`s a story of family,faith,love,good times,bad times,childhood adventures,trips to other lands,romance and more. Armineh, please keep writing. You still have another story to tell!

I am sorry to read of your loss over the years. I do believe that only those of us who also share our lives with cats, dogs and others of the fur family type, truly understand the pain of this particular loss.
My 16 year old dachsie sleeping in his bed next to my chair is entering that sad, waning time of life, sigh, the frisky red pup we found lost so many years ago is now and 'old man' sleeps a lot, grey muzzle and even down on his legs.

Pets are wonderful. But sometimes parting with them is really hard to bear like you write in this story of your losses. You made me remember Jazz, my Pomeranian's tragic death. That I wrote about it posted here. Why I no longer have a pet.

What a gut wrenching story. Throughout recorded history, and perhaps much more before there was recorded history, genocide has been common. There is something in the human psyche that creates such hatred turning ordinary people into vicious killers of their own kind. Stories like this need to be told in great detail so that we can banish this kind of activity from the earth forever.
Currently there is genocide going on in several parts of the world, most notably South Sudan. But, we avert our eyes and don't get involved until it's too late like in Rwanda.
For the remaining Armenians, April 25, 1915, is a day of infamy.
