I'm sorry that you started out life with abuse, but you can't live the rest of your life blaming any failure on what happened in your childhood and not on your current situation. As I read your discussion of "boundaries" I would liken that to the roles that we all play in the working world. Sometimes we have to go outside of our defensive, protective persona in order to grow and learn.
The fact that you studied psychology leads me to believe that you have spent your higher education trying to determine what was going on in your own head. I would be careful of blaming superiors for your failure to do the job. I cringe every time someone says, "it's not in my job description." As though a job description defines definite limits to what you will do to move the organization you are working for ahead.
I didn't understand the sentence: "… Illness, I was baker acted for the time six months later and forced medication."
