I checked out your bio and I can see why you are such an accomplished writer and have written this beautiful memoir so well. I say, "memoir," because it reads more like a true episode in your life. There are many parallels to my life as a young teenager…
I am also a twin. But I didn't face the difficulty of the first kiss because when I was 12 my brother and I participated in "kissing games" that my mother orchestrated with the cutest girls in our sixth grade class. It was good training. While not during my time, during my younger twin brothers' time, my parents had a summer home on a lake and mass quantities of Schlitz and Blatz were consumed, keeping Milwaukee prosperous. And there were fireflies in jars and I remember my cousin's son catching a Jart with his ankle--painful.

I loved your story because of your nonchalant way of telling it, laying so many details on the line. Even if only for a few fleeting moments, it is nice to find innocence through the flash of a firefly.
