I come from an academic background and therefore stand accused of being someone who is one of the "PC police." I have never heard of the term in all my studies, so it must be an extreme right wing way of saying that teachers (school and college?) are acting like some kind of police, dishing out punishment for students writing and speaking politically unfavorably towards the right leaning ideology.
Nothing could • be further from the truth. Higher education is dedicated to learning. Right wing ideology focuses on conspiracies, biblical views that are extreme and generally, untrue. I doubt if you have ever read Karl Marx. He advocated many reforms that were initiated in the United States after the stock market failed in 1929 and the Great Depression ensued. Marx warned against unbridled capitalism leading to income and wealth inequality… Resulting in economic collapse and/or bloody revolution like happened in France in 1789 and in Russia in in 1916.
What teachers are good at doing is intervening when people bully others verbally or physically. The right wing is more inclined to do that and our president is very fond of calling people names, bullying them, firing people without cause, and lying whenever it's good to get his way like a child with a temper tantrum.
Most terrorists acts like the school shootings which have become so common are carried out by right wing extremists. The others, like the recent shooting in Santa Fe high school, were blamed on the young man being bullied in school and carrying out retaliation with violence.
The right-leaning wing wants to revise history in textbooks and demonize the ideas of Karl Marx. Students of history know that the brutal socialist dictatorships operating in the so-called, communist countries, were a far cry from what Karl Marx advocated.

I disagree with Ron. You and everyone else on the planet are entitled to express their beliefs. It seems the higher we dive into the educational side of believing in God, the more we loose sight of what believing is all about. Spirituality cannot simply be placed in a box. Sometimes it cannot be explained at all. It MUST be experienced and allowed to flow freely in our society without being cut to ribbons with constant criticism from sceptics who truly and sadly don't have a clue. That is a strange title, but not strange when compared to the cultist Christian term, "intelligent design."
You quote Einstein as though Einstein were some kind of religious authority. And, you put this 20 page book (?) [pamphlet] in the genre of "family" as some sort of family reading. From your background as a tech writer and science fiction/fantasy writer, I don't believe you are qualified to be an authority on religious viewpoint. You have no background in theology or science to back your claim of "learning" not to be an atheist.
I have studied religion and philosophy during my doctoral studies. I am also well versed in the sciences and find that science tends not to give credit or blame to "spiritual" sources for everything but simply tries to establish facts. Especially in the 20th, and now in the 21st century, so many myths and so-called common sense truths have been proven wrong via improved instruments for scientific study like DNA and the Hubble telescope. As an observer of all this ferment, I choose not to believe anything that has come before. It makes no difference to me who or what created the universe some 15 billion years ago. It is really not important. And especially not important to try to create a religion around it.
What is important is what is going to happen in our lifetimes and those of our children and their children. As soon as we get off of silly theories about very fundamental things that we or Einstein can't fathom or make any real sense of, we can focus on what science is telling us about our earth and our society that we can do something about. Perpetuating myth and cults of religion continues to slow our progress in becoming citizens of our solar system and the universe while we fight wars over fairies and demons.
