Of course I was aware that little girl was you. There was a time that I would have scoffed at such an idea as people being able to know what other people think, or, in this story (not fiction) able to walk your husband toward the path he was supposed to go. I no longer scoff. I am a recent believer. Just three years ago; one day after my wife dies, she called, "Darling" to me. I was in another room with my dog, we both heard her and we both went to see. She wasn't there of course, but something was there. After awhile I went back to doing what I had been doing, but my old dog stood in front of the recliner my wife always liked to use. He stayed there for hours. Dottie, my wife, was there and only my dog knew. After that I took a different attitude about those with the "Gift."

Such an aching sadness here, Lily, and a beautiful tale of a story too-often told that is a part of life's fabric for too many. We can feel the heaviness with every step - dunes and woodland conjure heavy-underfoot with entanglement of mind, body, spirit. It's very painful when such a union falters for whatever reason - especially hard when it's because of unfathomable 'change' of personhood or reason in the other. Wishing health, healing and protection in the journey onwards in what can, at times, seem a harsh and brutal reality. xx

I can't say that I have not hurt others in my life; but I also have been hurt by others too in ways that you'll probably can't imagine. I've learned to pick myself up from the broken pieces that were of me from the floor and glue them back together and move on.
Love is making the world go round, sometimes we are hurting others; and other times others are hurting us. What's in the past we cannot fix, but the future is awaiting us with open arms. If I were you I would not stay in sorrow for too long, because it isn't fair for myself and my future mate. It would not be fair for that special someone who is still waiting for me with open arms!!!!

I love the sound of tree frogs, they have a loud voice for being so small. On the other hand, if I'm near water, the deep thumping of the bullfrog has a very peaceful ring to it.

sometimes a child can only teach itself since no adult can truly identify with the child's state of mind ... especially if the child considers things adults usually can't ... though having a loving and inspired adults around can never be a detriment and is sometimes an amusement ... the told me i was a miracle baby and then my mother died 3 days later ... so there are exceptions ...

I lie down in green pastures. ;-) Seriously, you make some good points. I'm told that women are much better at telling lies that make people feel good, than men. How we are feeling is quite relative… I often feel rotten, and then a few minutes later, feel great. I long ago gave away those trite responses and often responded to stupid questions like, "How's your liver," with equally snide reply, "Still livin'." I don't know how many times I've answered honestly to questions like that with, "Crappy" or "Not very good today."
I guess it's because I've lived long enough, been through shit, and don't appreciate trite little lies as honest answers, so I like to shock people like that. Just like you.

The one certainty that I discovered is that of the 'human condition' even when we don't want to forget, to adjust....in time we do...the aching will continue for as long as it needs to, but given time...no matter how big is the loss....life will find its own momentum once more....then new beginnings...It is at this point that we are able to look back....and see the 'gifts' we have been given...and use them to continue happily to discover our life's true purpose...there is certainty in this....
