I have been to the Jasper to Banff area. It is very beautiful. Saw a lot of natural wonders but no weird phenomena described in this short story.

It is certainly interesting that the Tibetans would claim a part of British Columbia. Highway 1 certainly does drive through some spectacular scenery that I have experienced a couple of times. Unfortunately, in 1969, when I drove to Prince George and then on a new road carved in the wilderness to Jasper, I found miles and miles of bland forest of medium height and age with no other geological features like I saw in the South to the great dead heart of this great province.
Also, by contrast, my cousin bought and operated a remote resort on what is called, "the Grand Canyon," of British Columbia back in the early 1980s. He built the resort up to cater to rich clientele from states, but the local native residents resented him, and he was unable to obtain a guide's license without being a Canadian citizen. Although he loved living there, he had to leave and sell the place.
I wish I had the ability to describe landscapes way you do.
