I'm surprised no one commented on your poem. I find it quite enlightening. While I disagree that things are worse today than they were in the past because it's not based in fact, but impression, I agree that not coddling children enables them to learn and experience life more fully on their way to adulthood. They must learn how to be compassionate and kind on their own.
