Brooke Bellin, a divorcee, is ready to go on with her life, career, and a new relationship, but is her ex-husband, Ty, ready to let her go? When Brooke gets shot everything is turned upside-down. Not only is her ex-husband, who suffered a stroke and has a physical therapist nurse, Marla Vrahn, suspects, Brooke's new love interest, Scott Marshall, is a suspect also. Scott, a self-employed landscaper, is in love with Brooke's creative work; he is also in love with her and would never hurt her, but tell that to the police. Ty still believes that Brooke is his and can't see her with anyone else. When Scott gets arrested, Brooke is heartbroken and confused and is not allowed to see him. Staying with her best friend, Chloe, for safety, she finds a strong arm to lean on for emotional support. When a falsified statement and other crooked evidence is entered into the courtroom trial the storyline takes an interesting turn. Is the real shooter found and brought to justice? Dawn Kunda give the reader a story with as many twists and turns as a roller coaster. "Dirty Lies" is a well-written crime-drama, love story that keeps the reader glued to their seats. I highly recommend "Dirty Lies."

Thank you for your comment, Ron. Good to see you get the drift of my novel. I had to write it. I hope I did the novel justice in representing my protest to the political downfalls of our system in the twenty-first century.

Your book caught my eye partly because I grew up in north central Wisconsin. So, after reading your bio, I half expected some sort of Fargo-esque drama. But, as I read your excerpt, I realized that you are putting a great deal of our current world situation, especially in that first paragraph, as well as, through the confession of a former president, the underpinnings of our government that make it far removed from a representative democracy. Good stuff. If anything, the excerpt is too short.
One of my novels, American Mole: The Vespers, uncovers a Catholic cult monastery with a national evangelistic calling near the village of Vesper, Wisconsin.
