This carried all the blanche and prickle of night and imagination being bigger than life. I especially like "Shades of black.." "...hurried towards the instinctive light." Sound was a character in this scene, and very profound was: "But these foes .../And borne of my mind." "Eating my spirit," so fitting for the devourment of a graveyard. I too have pondered time and space. I suggest the last line be followed with a really blistering quote, that throws open the doors to the mystery of time and space you so aptly write about. For some reason Led Zeppelin's Kashmir and ZOFO comes to mind here.

Very intriguing. Sometimes leaders lead because they are chosen, as in the case of Moses in the Bible, not because of their abilities. God used Moses because He chose him, not because he was a great leader naturally. Remember, his argument was that he could not speak well.
Your poem is interesting personally because of times when I have been a leader, and have known that the followers were more knowledgeable than I. Old saying, "God uses who He chooses."

You know, I don't see this as only a "sweet children's poem"...I see it also as a poem for adults. I see it a bit as taking someone or something for granted...loving it when its all shiny and new, and then, just pushing it aside a bit...and missing it when its gone....when it's a bit too late, although you do say that he does have many friend who greet him each day...but it's just how it made me feel. The poem has a cheery and melancholy feel at the same time...and I love the imagery...I can see him standing there so proud, right from the buttons starting to fall off his chest to the hat. Sorry to go on and on...lol...but it's just how this poem struck me!

The ancient questions.
As a kid I'd fall asleep wondering the same, blowing my mind.
The only thing that was a bit of a catalyst was when I found out that time is man made, a point to point reference. So I realised that time is an imaginary concept and does not exist. Time does not exist, other than as a measurement. But ask a scientist to explain, love, the pleasure of music and most of all, Why hasn't Arsenal won a trophy in 5 yrs.
