Nightscapes (Short Story) - 9/18/2016 6:04:18 AM
You need to quit reading so much! ;-) As I read your vivid descriptions my mind quickly transports to that scene, and then on the next one that you have so well described from your dreams. I hope your real life does not reflect that dreary boring room that you describe and escape in those vivid dreams. Of late I have been having horrific dreams of both types. Dreams of vivid color and content (men can dream in color, too) and one recurring dream where I am violently thrown from my bed by a strong muscle spasm (these are real, violent spasms) and I end up falling towards the floor, just like in your story, waiting for impact that never comes because I have, so far, not left the bed. You do leave the reader pondering whether the nightmare is for real or not. Only you know the answer to that. From what I've read and from my own dream experiences, one awakens before the final impact of a fall. So, your last sentence is literally a "cliffhanger"...

The Plumber's Wife (Short Story) - 9/13/2010 10:50:12 AM
Good story. I liked that you put in the part about her finishing her dishes and getting rid of the rest of the pie before calling 911. Smart woman. :) Donna

Suzanne, I had an ex-husband like that. Didn't have the heart for a rhubarb pie rubbing out. Great tale. Mary

Sinking Spring Skatarena (Article) - 9/15/2016 6:56:16 AM
A wonderful memory about something I had nearly forgotten. We had a rollerskating rink in my teenage hometown. I never went there although I skated on the ice in the winter on the four or five city ice rinks, the rink in the city park was mostly occupied by kids from the country and some lowlifes that gave the place a bad name. Eventually, it was converted to a community gathering place, and my family has used it several times as a great place to have a reception, anniversary or reunion. So, beyond skating, that building survived and thrived. I understand that roller derbies are on the upswing again. Ron

Over My Dead Body (Poetry) - 9/15/2016 7:24:11 AM
You have taken a common expression and turned it into a poem with a twist… Nice. Ron
