This poem is perfect. I don't quite agree with this interpretation of muse concept, for I believe anything/anyone can take the form of a muse (object; good; bad something-someone); but this poem is perfect. Convicing into Your interpretation. Crafty!
My real muses are women writers. I imagine I can relate.
