A Book for ALL Seniors – November 24, 2019 – Blanche E. Sosland
Sunie Levin, M.Ed has written a book for Senior Orphans that should be read by ALL senior adults, not only Senor Orphans. It should also be read by all professionals who work with senior adults so they can help these adults implement the wealth of material the author has researched and provided for us. Every detail of the book addresses the needs of its audience, from the larger print, to the short chapters and conversational tone. Although I am an octogenarian I am not a Senior Orphan and yet so many of Sunie Levin’s survival skills spoke to me. Her chapters on volunteering and exercise are outstanding. Just one personal example, my children urged me to pursue an exercie program. After resisting for a whole time I finally tried to follow an exercise program. After just a few weeks I no longer needed to take four tylenol a day, two in the morning and two in the evening. The lower back pain was manageable without medication. Enjoy the read, enjoy successful implementation of the wealth of material provided and share these survival skills with all the seniors you know.
