I have many friends in and near Boulder CO including 2 daughters, 2 sons in law, and 3 grand kids all of whom now know about the tragedy of storms. I am thankful they are all safe, and you too!

Publication mostly is for celebrities, politicians, and others who can't write, yet want to impose a point of view that is as ridiculous as it is flawed logically. It's a money game. Write to please yourself.

Kathern, you provided good insight about how one writes.
I write to record and I write for the Lord.
Sometimes I write for a relative or a friend.
But I love to write and it's hard to say, "The End".

Well, that's the way it used to be. Some writers were overnight successes. Some were successful only after a long writing career. And some never succeeded all.
Today however, anyone can write anything and there are any number of POD publishers that will publish it immediately, regardless of its quality or character––for the money. With so many new books out there for critics to review, most of them don't get a critical review. Instead, if they sell, they are successful, and that's how the cream will rise to the top. Promotion will sell books, and may provide a livelihood, but for an author to be successful, the people must come and the people must read.

It's not as easy as it looks, is it?
It's a comfort to know that God knows, and He is with us through it all, and He has an assignment for His children throughout life. Sometimes it's to pray, for self and others. Sometimes it's just to smile at those who don't remember how to. And always, to trust Him.

Oh, Kathern, I identify with your dilemma! Probably our biggest adjustments came in the kitchen. I had been Queen of the Kitchen for over 40 years; suddenly I was a rather inept assistant to the real cook! He even started baking bread! We've learned a lot since Bill retired, and we do pretty well together.
Anyhow, I enjoyed reading your experiences with retirement. Blessings to both of you.

You're right--it's a fun poem--but also very true. He is a deceiver in every possible way, but your closing lines hold the solution to dealing with him. God is more powerful than the devil, and is more than willing to help.
