I agree with you about the nature of living right. We have learned it in spite of all our foibles. The question now is whether we can carry it out with all the negative forces trying to tear it down like the recent president of the United States and his followers so adamant in living in the past that they would destroy the present just to get there again.
I have always been optimistic, largely because I've read futurists who tend to be optimistic about the human spirit and our ability, with the help of technology, to leave the planet, look back at it with wonder and nostalgia, but move on out through the solar system, and eventually, to the stars. Our very nature requires that we leave Planet Earth. For some time, in the near or far future, a catastrophic event will occur that will either badly maim it or destroy its ability to maintain human life for very long time, Perhaps destroy it altogether, and I'm not talking about the Sun eating Earth, 5 billion years now.

I like historical fiction. In this case drawn from the real history of your family. But I noted that you labeled the genre mystery/suspense. Probably because, with few actual facts from that time, you turned their story into a mystery story.
I have written the story of my uncle who disappeared in his thirties and then reappeared 45 years later, 10 years after his death, with the full story unfolding, thanks to a private investigator. His two daughters don't want me to publish it. I respect that.
