I'm too busy today to read the whole thing, but the portion I read is very authentic, and I like that for a historical piece. Romance is not my genre and my backlog of books to read does not allow me to read this one, but I do need to comment a bit on what I've read.
You've done your research well, particularly about the fauna and flora of Nebraska at that time, and your description of medicine in small towns on the prairie seems to match historically as well. And based on history accounts, many many soldiers had their lives cut short even though they survived the horrors of the Civil War, coming home wounded both in mind and body. My great-grandfather was a blacksmith and probably more concerned about what happened to the horses rather than the men. Thus, he didn't have that era's equivalent of PTSD.
And your set up of matchmakers and suggestions from neighbors for a bachelor of some quality is a very good one for a romance novel.
For some reason I always notice little glitches. There are a few like using past when it should have been passed, the "f" missing from farmer and dashes with spaces around them that normally do not have spaces, but fewer than mine. ;-)
