I'm glad it turned out funny rather than tragic. My twin brother and I had a friend like that. I thought he would never get married, but he did and has a daughter. We had a name for guys like that a klutz (not sure about the spelling… probably German). My twin brother definitely was. He bought a skateboard for his daughter, and concerned about her safety on the steep streets around their house, he took her to the basement to show her how to properly ride skateboard. While showing her how to ride it, he fell off the skateboard and broke his ankle. I'm not sure if he let her use the skateboard after that.
