I really enjoyed this. From the way it is written, I believe the synopsis with TJ is your true experience. I've always been intrigued with computer matching ever since I encountered it on campus back in 1966. Dating was rather less challenging before I was paralyzed at 20. It has become much more challenging after. Probably the reason I never used any dating service although I did try a free trial of a very expensive, person-to-person matching thing about 30 years ago that was nothing but a money pit.
And, my chain of pain was usually quite short. My most successful dating came out of contacts I made through my work. And, my 25 year relationship came from a newspaper ad I placed hiring home care assistance. We never dated but she fell in love with me within a week. We are not ideally matched, but it works and we work well together.
My twin brother, after losing his second wife of 25 years three years ago, seems to be having a fairly good time using online dating. He did indicate that most of the contacts were unsuitable because of obligation to children or pets. He is free from those and would like his companions to be the same.
