This gives me mixed feelings. Number one, it's a creative write. Number two, it shares some empathy for the other person, even if it is in the strange confines of a beer bar. Finally, I totally can't sympathize with the so-called poor guy who can't get laid. If he is so stuck on faithfulness, he should shut up his mouth about all the “pain” abstinence is giving him. Some men, and I won't go into detail, for various reasons, fully potent, remain abstinent for very long periods of time. Why don't you suggest that he just, “give himself a hand.”
If his wife recovers, he can go back to his old habit of using her for his religious and state sanctioned humping ground. if she doesn't, he should get over his false sense of grief in a beer bottle and get on with his life with as many women as he wants.
What is lacking in this poem is any concern for the wife who is really bearing real pain.

There are many dragons to slay in our lifetime. If only one could count on someone to be our dragon slayer. I believe in slaying my own dragons..this way I know that they are really slayed!
