That is one ancient pumpkin. Almost as old as that fossilized fruitcake that gets passed down by being regifted every Christmas. I googled to be sure, but that pumpkin originated near Mexico in about 5000 BC and somehow swam or floated across the Atlantic to get picked up by the Druid a few thousand years later.
I'm going to check our pumpkin this year, not for the pumpkin pie dwelling inside but the prophetic message that it contains that will make me rich. And to think I was going to donate it to pumpkin chunking tomorrow after Halloween.
