All three of my caregivers have expressed some anger. I would certainly like them to read your work. Part of the anger comes from frustration when trying different things doesn't seem to work for me, especially when I can't sleep at night.
That last chorus brought to mind the time my father stopped three times while driving his new truck because he was getting sick. Finally, the third doctor determined that he was being poisoned by carbon monoxide because the exhaust was getting into the cab. I often thought about what could've happened to him as a result of driving an 18 wheeler and passing out at speed. He was lucky to have lived through that.

I can relate to this poem very much because I am a caregivee. Fortunately, unlike her, I still possess all my faculties and use them to the hilt so that I don't fall into despair for my condition.
I'm putting so much strain on my primary caregiver that she complains that she has lost "her life" to me. That makes me sad that she is not free because of me. I am also not free because I love to travel and at least right now, travel is very restricted by my condition and its needs, growing all the time.
Keep writing about it because I know you are under tremendous strain to just keep her as healthy as possible until the end when freedom will be hollow because you will have lost the love you have worked so hard to keep.

Pretty heavy thought process went into the birth of this poem, Don. When we come to the realization that we have botched everything, much like that frog, it is too late to jump. I liked this.
