A real horror story that seems to be on everyone's mind these days. But I'm not much for ghost stories. It would've been better if you had come up with a way that Aiden could have escaped (untied his own ropes) normally while thinking that his mother did it.
"Disconnecting the brakes," would not work because brakes are immediately applied every time one starts to drive. There are many ingenious ways to make brakes fail at a particular time. And, the whole crash scene is full of inconsistencies and could be clearer.
I think it's better for Brian to have conjured up Susan in his mind than to have her have such a physical presence. Makes for a better story.

A gripping story told by Aiden and Brian's point of view. A mother's macabre intervention provided a most satisfying ending to the real monster in the story.

This one is suspenseful and I will give him that. That is what makes a horror story special when it has some good suspense thrown in for good measure.

Oh what an ending! I loved it! Very Suspenseful to the point of many uncertainties with an added touch of excitement all in one. Very well written Carl! I enjoyed my visit and thanks for sharing such a great story! :) Peace and blessings to you and yours!
