Short. Taking on the elements and giving the reader something to wonder about. (martyr) Making the rain and the image of the head bowed figure fighting the elements, until, at the end, you smile with the misdirection.

I like the hell out of this, as you write of the most primitive act in the universe, and one in which many feel that their own private performance surpasses the gods. I liked the word links also.
