Having read your story in entirety, I can't help wondering why a family setting out on such a dangerous odyssey didn't pack food when it would take weeks to reach the sea - unless they had none, but you didn't mention this. If I understand this correctly, Amena and the other woman were rescued by a separate fisherman. I'm thinking your story would be even more amazing had you stretched things out so the reader could emotionally invest himself/herself.

Your title caught my attention and after reading, actually while reading, I have tears running freely down my cheeks and thankfulness at the outcome of your beautiful story...Thank God for his never leaving us..Precious and beautiful..I am a nurse but have taken leave to care for my mom with Alzheimer's disease and now heart failure....thank you for this post...

You've definitely got the right idea here. The old Chinese curse is "May you live in interesting times" and we certainly are living it now. I enjoyed your poem since you've laid out exactly my point of view on the state of the world today.

I know of teenagers who stand up and care and the poets of countries far from our shores and languages. Ann believe that there were many voices back in 60's & 70's. I often found myself walking my roads alone. So time is but a circle, as a circle is but a game.

You are absolutely right! The last protest song I heard was a new arrangement of, “Pave Paradise and Put Up a Parking Lot.” It's time the 99% come up with some songs rather than, “I don't know what our platform is except we want jobs and money to live on.”
I'm no good at writing songs, or I would write one. I am writing stories of the Apocalypse to warn people that they had better behave or the precious little that we have will be taken away by mother nature
