The Old Ones is an adventure story for the family, any family. It is as close to politically correct as the ink would allow. It has the rare status of being interesting for the whole family, children from 8 to 108. It contains no foul language or erotica.

It is common for us as Authors to want to write the next best seller but it is more important that we write for ourselves and the perfect avenue is to drive leisurely down that path slowly while enjoying the venture doing our best to engage our readers just as you speak of in this piece. Excellent work.

If your work is good, they will come. Relying on the advice of friends, family and co-conspirators to judge your work is dangerous because they will generally be biased on the friendly side especially if they want to continue to read your work for free.
Most of my readership so far has been free and from unlikely sources. I do not rely on my writing for income. Some of the greatest writers and artists have died penniless when their fame was either very short or after their death.
AD will not increase your sales, but you will find friends and collaborators.
