Shades of Unreality (Short Story) - 12/16/2019 9:49:30 AM
An unlikely meeting of a 600 year old ghost and two smart toys. Quite a unique idea for a science fiction story. While the contrast is rather great, it seems no more than the difference my grandmother made taking an ox drawn wagon two months to move her family from Arkansas to North Dakota in her childhood, to her flying nonstop from Minneapolis to San Francisco at 650 mph, arriving after the 2000 miles in about four hours. That was 1968. Today, 50 years later, the flight and the oxen pulled wagon would take about the same amount of time. The service on the plane would be much less and the seats much smaller and confining.
What the story lacks, aside from the contrast, is any meaningful value that a reader can get from the discourse. Of course, I would welcome anyone telling me.
