writing for you seem to be gifted with a wonderful style, focused and calm, your normal self is fine, otherwaise you woukld not be able to write about your traumas in such a defining manner. Best wishes to you Nathan and may your troubles go past and you live to be a well known writer!

U explain this so well that I feel like I am actually there suffering with you during these episodes...no offense meant, I wouldn't want to be, but I think that we all have had some semblance of this happen to us throughout life, but nothing like what you go through & your fear of going outside...you are wrought with many problems...I wish you well, sir, and hope things look up for you...e

While I have had some desperate physical situations resulting from being quadriplegic and unable to move when I need to, like being in a straitjacket without the straitjacket, I've never had a psychotic episode.
Regardless of your condition, you certainly articulate well what a psychotic episode is like for you. For that I'm grateful. Like Sigmund Freud, I'm curious. The more you can provide me about what is going through your mind, the better I can write about it when I come upon psychosis.
Like I've often said to people with deep problems, all you have to do is write about them and solutions will appear. I hope that is true in your case.

Wow. This has me in tears. A dynamic, heartfelt write. I am so sorry that you went through all this abuse. I know it doesn't end when the abuse stops, you carry it with you all of your life. I am glad you have let go of the hatred. Thats something hard for me to do. God be with you, Nathan. I pray the rest of your life is not just good but GREAT. You deserve it more than anyone I know.

Wow, that's one poem that really got to me. Good for you for reaching out. I've noted that several poets here have similar backgrounds that are trying to get out, but they haven't quite reached the level of courage and honesty that you have.
I wish you freedom to write about wonderful poetry subjects in the future, letting this one stand as your key to freedom and move on.

Agoraphobia, to some extent, runs in our family. My sister suffered horribly from it for thirty years until she found a drug (unfortunately I don't know what that drug is) that work and she has been able to get an accounting diploma and work as an accountant quite successfully. She is no longer afraid to leave the house.
Likewise, my niece became hopelessly under agoraphobia during her studies for a Masters degree in library science. My sister may have helped her, because she came out of it and is now an associate dean of the library of the major university.
I certainly hope that you can get the help you need so that the mailbox will only be the first thing that you conquer.
