I read this to mean that the coal black faces are waiting in hiding until the time is right for them to come out and take back their land, their forest where all their riches lie.

When someone leaves their Fatherland, those strings from the past for hard trying to bring you back. That's what I read in your poem about Nigeria, your fatherland.

An outpouring of emotion and words expressing how much this woman affected you. Not since my high school days have I experienced such pain and the loss of a beauty.
Perhaps she was shallower than you think and didn't possess the mind required to talk to you the way you wanted to talk to her.
