I'm sorry, my backlog of books to read is too long, but your excerpt certainly is fun to read and your description seems to cover a lot of the ills that plagued the unfortunately heralded rush of Europeans, unsatisfied with their own countries, who came forth to rape and pillage what they thought of as a savage wilderness to take as their own. I'm so glad you are writing about the evil side of it. And with some unlikely heroes, to boot.

I like historical fiction, especially if it is historically correct. While World War I is well covered and there are many videos to be seen of that war, your excerpt does an excellent job of portraying the hell that trench combat in those days was like for the footsoldier.
Something I would definitely want to read if I had time.

An absolutely staggering account of soldiers at war. Makes you seem to be there, gasping with fright, sick to the stomach at the horror of war in having to kill and killing advancing ground troops. A must read for any soldier.

Jim Mazour: I recommend this book to all JSA veterans. It will bring back lots of memories, especially for those who served in the unit during the early 1970's time period.
